External, Internal and Security Lighting

There are numerous ways to achieve your chosen level of illumination, with either internal or external lighting. The market offers countless options from chandeliers to wall brackets or recessed to lanterns. We will work with you to determine your lighting requirements, and these could include:

• wall mounted or recessed fittings
• room centered incandescent or low voltage lighting
• low voltage downlights
• post lanterns or bollard lighting systems for outdoor security and safety

A large amount of home security lighting is based around tungsten-halogen floodlights, controlled via a movement sensor (passive infra-red). This is unsuitable for many locations as it is frequently in the wrong location and often only activated when your home has already been 'selected'.

More appropriate lighting solutions are avaliable and include high efficiency low energy lighting controlled by a photo-electric cell (dusk to dawn switch). When placed in the correct location these can light the average garden, and although on all night, the fact that they are low wattage will incurr a cost of only a few pounds per year.

Although there is still a place for passive infra-red, many versions do not operate well in their intended locations. However, we can work with you to determine your requirements and implement an appropriate lighting solution to meet your needs.
